Yesterday, I had the pleasure of joining Andy Price and Richard Brooks on The Business Hour with Burton Radio and it was one of those rare chances to pause, look back, and reflect on how far the journey has come.
We talked about everything, from my school days in the UK, to building a career in corporate Australia, and how that eventually led me to take the leap into entrepreneurship. I shared the highs, the lows, and the lessons learned along the way, the kind that don’t always make it into the official bios or LinkedIn headlines.

A Journey Across Continents
After moving to Australia, I spent years working in large organisations, learning about Lean process improvement, leadership, and innovation. Those experiences shaped how I saw business, not just as a way to make a living, but as a way to make a difference.
Eventually, I launched my own consultancy there, helping businesses become more efficient and customer-focused. But the pull to come home was always strong and when I returned to the UK, I brought that same Lean mindset with me.
Building Go True North & Vision to Venture
Back in the UK, I wanted to do something that went beyond consultancy. That’s where Go True North and Vision to Venture were born, to help entrepreneurs, start-ups, and small business owners turn their ideas into reality using practical, proven methods.
The Business Hour chat was a great chance to open up about that journey, the why behind it all and to remind myself how every chapter, even the challenging ones, led to what I’m building today.
Your Turn
