Friday evening at the Solihull Business Awards was nothing short of inspiring. As one of the judges, I had the privilege of not only seeing the hard work that goes on behind the scenes but also watching the judging process come to life on stage as incredible businesses and individuals were celebrated.

What made the night even more special was being able to share it with my wife, Rachel. It was a great opportunity for her to see first-hand some of the insights into my business world and the amazing people I get to connect with through this work.

I was fortunate to meet PJ Ellis, whose energy and passion for Birmingham shines through everything he does; Scarlett Allen-Horton, Apprentice finalist and business partner to Lord Sugar, whose journey from humble beginnings to the boardroom is a true lesson in vision and resilience; and Gabriel Imevbore, a brilliant entrepreneur with a story that really resonated.

The evening also gave me the chance to spend time with Stacey Batigan, Helen Bates, Gayle Ditchburn, and Emma-Louise Hewitt – all fantastic people doing brilliant work in their fields and contributing so much to the local business community.

Awards nights like this aren’t just about trophies and photos; they’re about celebrating the grit, determination and creativity that fuels our region. They remind us that behind every business there are people with vision, passion and a willingness to make a difference.

I left the evening feeling grateful to be part of such a strong and vibrant community.

Congratulations again to all the winners and finalists, your achievements are proof that the Solihull business scene is thriving, and the future looks bright.
