Talking All Things Entrepreneurs with Walsall Academy 6th Formers

Yesterday, I had the absolute pleasure of spending the day at Walsall Academy, chatting with their brilliant 6th form students about all things entrepreneurial....and Yes I loved talking All Things Entrepreneurs with Walsall Academy 6th Formers

From side hustles to start-ups

From side hustles to start-ups, we dived into what it really means to be an entrepreneur, not just the Instagram highlight reel of success stories, but the real, everyday stuff: spotting problems, testing ideas, learning from failure, and building something that creates value.

We talked about how entrepreneurship isn’t just about starting a business, it’s a way of thinking. It’s about curiosity, problem-solving, and finding smarter ways to make things work. Whether they go on to run their own companies or join great teams, those skills are going to serve them for life.

Q&A

The students asked some fantastic questions, from how do you know when your idea’s ready? to what's your YouTube channel? and it reminded me why I love doing this. There’s something special about seeing young people realise that entrepreneurship is for them too.

A big thank you to the staff and students at Walsall Academy for the warm welcome (and the laughs). It’s clear there’s some serious talent and creativity in the room — the kind that makes me excited for the next generation of local business leaders.

I left feeling inspired, hopeful, and reminded that the spark of entrepreneurship can start anywhere — sometimes all it takes is the right conversation to light it. 💡
